8442A - EMERGENCY TREATMENT

  1. In the event of a staff accident or injury, staff members or administrators shall:
     
    1. if properly trained, administer first aid;
    2. report the accident to the appropriate administrator;
    3. summon professional medical assistance, if needed;
    4. notify emergency individuals listed on the employee's emergency contact form immediately if the accident or illness indicates professional medical care is required;
    5. report the accident within one (1) working day to the immediate supervisor who will, in turn, report the accident to the Board Office.
  2. Records are to be kept on all injuries requiring medical attention which occur while staff members are on school property, in school buildings, or at school-sponsored activities.
  3. The Treasurer will inform the insurance carrier, according to the guidelines, of any Workers' Compensation claims.
