7440C - IDENTIFICATION BADGES
The purpose of this procedure is to protect students and staff by issuing District identification badges to identified personnel and to require the display of badges by personnel/volunteers at all times when on duty. Failure to do so may result in discipline. The identification badge must be visibly displayed on a lanyard or a clip on the person's front between the neck and the waist. The District identification badges will serve as an instant identification system for security purposes and will assist students, parents, employees, and visitors in identifying personnel or approved volunteers.
The initial badge is provided by the District at no cost to the employee or volunteer. Any staff member/volunteer desiring a second identification badge or needing to replace the original identification badge will be required to purchase the badge through the District. At the cessation of employment with the District identification badges, keys, and other similar items that provide access to District facilities or technology are to be returned to the District.
This procedure provides guidelines for the regulation and management of photo identification badges as a means of enhancing service to students, citizens, and visitors as well as establishing a safer school and work environment.
