5530A - USE OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS

In accordance with State law, the PrincipalĀ is to ensure that the following notice is posted in all locker rooms of the District which are used by students in grades 7-12. The notice is to be placed in a conspicuous place and should be maintained in a legible condition.

WARNING

IMPROPER USE OF ANABOLIC STEROIDS MAY CAUSE SERIOUS OR FATAL HEALTH PROBLEMS SUCH AS HEART DISEASE, STROKE, CANCER, GROWTH DEFORMITIES, INFERTILITY, PERSONALITY CHANGES, SEVERE ACNE, AND BALDNESS. POSSESSION, SALE, OR USE OF AN ANABOLIC STEROID IS A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY A FINE AND IMPRISONMENT.

For information purposes with staff and students, Ohio Revised Code 3719.41, Schedule III defines Anabolic Steroids as follows:

Unless specifically excepted under Federal drug abuse control laws or listed in another schedule, any drug or hormonal substance chemically or pharmacologically related to testosterone (other than estrogens, progestins, and corticosteroids), including any of the following, or any salt, ester, isomer, or derivative of any of the following that acts in the same manner on the human body:
