5451A - RECOGNITION OF STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT
Each principal, in collaboration with appropriate staff, is to prepare a list of achievements by students in curricular, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities that will qualify the student for special recognition by the school and possibly by the Board of Education.
Each school may submit to the Superintendent at any time, recommendations that the Board provide special recognition to any student or group of students who demonstrate unusual accomplishment.
Honor/Merit Rolls-grades 4-12
Each school shall establish an honor/merit roll(s) to publicly recognize high academic achievement. The same criteria and standards are used throughout the District.
The honor roll lists are to be published in school and community newspapers when possible.
