4120.09 - USE OF UNPAID VOLUNTEER AIDES

Unpaid volunteer aides may be used throughout the school system for:

  1. resource service projects such as a lecture, a demonstration, or assistance on a field trip;

  2. continuing service projects extending over long periods or for the entire school year such as library aides, teacher aides, and office aides.

Procedures to be Followed

  1. Volunteers for short term resource service projects may be contacted and scheduled by the individual school or department desiring the service without involving the Central Office in the arrangements and without any special conditions.

  2. Volunteers are required to complete the form for a limited criminal history check.

  3. All volunteers shall be under the direct supervision of the school or department administrator and/or the teacher to whom they are assigned.
