3120.05 - EMPLOYMENT OF SUMMER SCHOOL STAFF
When not otherwise specified in the terms of a negotiated, collectively-bargained agreement, the following procedures will hold for selection of staff members for the summer school:
An announcement will be made to all staff members listing those positions available, hours required, and procedure for submitting an application.
First priority will be given to Corporation certified staff members serving in regular school programs.
Consideration will be given to people outside of the Corporation only when no qualified Corporation certified staff members are available.
Only those candidates who are highly qualified to perform the duties of the position shall be recommended for employment unless no highly qualified candidates exist, then qualified candidates may be recommended.
Summer school assignments will be contingent upon having a minimum enrollment for the courses scheduled. The minimum enrollment for a course shall normally be that number of students necessary to qualify for State reimbursement.
Summer school assignments do not carry over automatically from year to year. All such positions will be re-opened annually.
