7540.01B - AT-HOME ACCESS TO DISTRICT TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES
The Board provides staff membersandstudents with access to District Technology Resources (as defined in Bylaw 0100) through the use of their personal communication devices (PCDs) (as defined in Bylaw 0100) from their homes/off-school property in accordance with the following guidelines:
- The amount of access time the Board will allow is unlimited.
- The Boardwill not provide help-desk support.
- Access is available at no charge.
- The Board will not be responsible for:
- any content that a home-user may access through District technology resources;
- any virus that a home-user may obtain while accessing District technology resources;
- any copyright violations that may be incurred while using District technology resources;
- loss of or damage to any equipment of the home-user.
- All information/data sent, received, or transmitted using District technology resources, including, but not limited to, e-mail, shall be considered Board property and there shall be no expectation of privacy or confidentiality concerning same. The Board reserves the right to access such information/data at any time.
- The Superintendent shall develop a Technology Acceptable Use and Safety Agreement Form that clearly delineates for users of District technology resources pursuant to this guideline what is and is not permissible use of the Board’s technology. Users who violate the terms of said Agreement shall be denied the privilege of using District technology resources, and may be subject to disciplinary action, civil action, and/or criminal prosecution.
