8120B - USE OF UNPAID VOLUNTEER AIDES

Unpaid volunteer aides may be used throughout the school system for:

1. one (1) day resource service projects such as a lecture, a demonstration, or assistance on a field trip;

2. continuing service projects extending over long periods or for the entire school year such as library aides, teacher aides, and office aides.

Procedures to be Followed

1. Volunteers for one (1) day and short term resource service projects may be contacted and scheduled by the individual school or department desiring the service without involving the Central Office in the arrangements and without any special conditions.

2. Volunteers for continuing projects are required to complete Form 8120 F1.

3. Volunteer aides may not be used to replace paid employees.
