4411 - PLACEMENT ON SALARY SCHEDULE
The Board of Education retains the authority to specify the salary of new positions and to determine the credit to be awarded for placement on an existing salary schedule.
The Superintendent is authorized to credit for placement on the salary schedule past service of an applicant for employment in this District on the following basis:
One (1) year credit for each year of secretarial or bookkeeping experience in a public school to a maximum of three (3) years credit.
One (1) year credit for each year of custodial or maintenance experience to a maximum of three (3) years credit.
For service in the military of this country one (1) year credit on schedule for each one (1) year served to a maximum of five (5) years credit.
Each nonteaching employee shall be informed annually of his/her salary by July 1st.
In order to advance one step on a salary guide, an employee must have served at least 120 days of the prior contract year with the District.
