2533 - MOVIES AND VIDEOS

  1. The use of commercial videos/movies is to be discouraged.

  2. The use of full length feature films is discouraged. These should be used only if they relate to instruction or occasionally if they are used as part of a positive behavior program.

  3. On rare occasions material other than G or PG may be shown if they have proven educational value and if the building principal has given approval.

  4. Educational videos/movies which are part of the District library collection should be utilized to enhance the curriculum prior to using materials of a commercial nature.

    1. G Rating – K-4 No other rating may be shown

    2. PG Rating – 5-12 May also be shown G rated items

    3. Anything other than G or PG requires principal’s approval and permission forms from student’s parent or guardian.

  6. It will not be held against the student in any way if s/he does not wish to view the material or if his/her parent/guardian does not wish him/her to view it.

  7. If a child does not view the material, s/he will be given an appropriate alternative assignment.

  8. The building principal may deem any material to be inappropriate either before or after its use.
