Supervises and Evaluates: All those who may be assigned to the Curriculum Committee, all educational programs Pre-Kindergarten through the 12th grade and any offered post high school instructional programs.

POSITION OVERVIEW

JOB GOAL:

To assist the Superintendent substantially and effectively in the task of providing leadership in developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible educational programs and services. This includes the development of a proper grading format that is consistent Pre- Kindergarten through the 12th grade, a coordination of all support materials, supplies, textbooks, technology, and related services, and the use of all relevant sources that ensures a progression of learning and instruction that can be observed and evaluated.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Valid Ohio administrative certificate for the position.

  2. Master's degree in education, or higher.

  3. A minimum of five (5) years successful experience in education.

  4. Ability to relate to and work well with others.

  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate and acceptable.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Attends Board of Education meetings and prepares and presents such reports for the Board as the Superintendent may request.

  2. Assists in the determination of types of programs needed by the schools and makes appropriate recommendations.

  3. Reports on the status of District programs and services at the request of the Superintendent.

  4. Prepares drafts of needed Board of Education policies and administrative procedures for the Superintendent's review and action.

  5. Assumes a significant leadership role in instructional planning and in- service education for the professional staff.

  6. Coordinates the instructional services with the central office and building administrators.

  7. Communicates programs, philosophy and polices of the District to staff, students and the community at large.

  8. Maintains liaison with social, professional, civic, volunteer and other community agencies and groups having an interest in the School District. Serves as chairperson of the District Business/Curriculum Advisory Council.

  9. Guides the on-going development of the program of instruction for schools Pre-K through 12.

  10. Works with the Director of Special Education and student services in coordinating the basic curriculum in the special education program.

  11. Plans in-service training and development programs for District staff.

  12. Assists principal in the planning and implementation of effective programs of supervision and evaluation.

  13. Serves on District committees and as a representative of the District as directed by the Superintendent.

  14. Communicates to the Superintendent the requirements and needs of the District as perceived by staff members.

  15. Prepares State and Federal reports as required.

  16. Works with the Superintendent and Treasurer in the preparation of the annual budget.

  17. Establishes necessary procedures for referral and cooperative planning with other "service to children" agencies at local, State and Federal levels.

  18. Assists in determining needs of all pupil personnel services.

  19. Coordinate and evaluate the District's standardized testing program.

  20. Coordinate and evaluate gifted/talented program in conjunction with the Director of Special Education.

  21. Coordinate and evaluate alternative education programs in conjunction with the Director of Special Education.

  22. Keeps informed of new techniques and research in the field of education through participation in local, State and national professional organizations and meetings.

  23. Coordinates and evaluates the preschool programs in conjunction with the local ESC.

  24. Coordinates the entry year program with the teacher mentors.

  25. Coordinates all Federal Title Programs.

  26. Coordinates all CCIP reporting.

  27. Manages the Home Schooling Services.

  28. Coordinates all Value Added Programs and training. 

  29. Coordinates the Ohio Improvement Process activities.

  30. Coordinates all Summer School Programs.

  31. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign.
