1400.38 - JOB DESCRIPTION - SENIOR CLASS ADVISOR
RESPONSIBILITY:
The Senior Class Advisor, in performance of his/her duties, is directly responsible to the high school principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma.
Skill and experience at recordkeeping and budgets.
Leadership ability, as demonstrated in previous work record.
Skill in interpersonal communications, and in facilitating such communication among students.
Ability to relate positively with staff, administration, parents, and student participants.
Criminal investigations clearance.
Other Desirable Qualifications:
Certification in one or more fields of education by Ohio Dept. of Education.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Class Advisor provides adult leadership for the Senior Class in their activities, including preparation for graduation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Gets input for, and oversees ordering of senior memory supplies such as T-shirts.
Oversees the preparation and monitoring of the senior class activity budget.
Prepares requisitions for graduation materials.
Prepares requisitions for graduation party.
Makes preparations and requisitions supplies for the graduation program.
Completes and monitors the ordering of diplomas, including getting required signatures.
Secures business support/donations for printing of mini-diplomas.
Coordinates preparation, housekeeping, decoration, and clean-up for graduation exercises.
Distributes and confirm all student graduation orders for caps, gowns, etc. before they are sent.
Distributes graduation order materials at least three (3) times during the year.
Coordinates late orders and lost diploma problems.
Coordinates graduation practice sessions.
Makes students aware of Senior Class activities through scheduling and announcements.
Keeps students at the vocational school informed of and involved in class activities.
Schedules and supervises class meetings.
Oversees the election of class officers.
Assumes responsibility for the conduct of participants while they are engaged in class activities either at their own school, or at other locations.
Coordinates the efforts of volunteers, parents, and others who may assist with class activities.
Coordinate any graduation parties or activities.
Other tasks as appropriate to activity and assigned by principal or Superintendent.
EQUIPMENT OPERATED:
Communications equipment (i.e., phone system, PA)
ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Occasional exposure to students, some of whom may be unruly.
