1400.01 - JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Responsibility:

The assistant high school principal, in the performance of his/her duties, is directly responsible to the high school principal and indirectly responsible to the Superintendent.

Qualifications:

Provisional Principal’s Certificate

Two (2) or more years of teaching experience

Duties:

  1. Assist in maintaining records and administer student attendance.

  2. Provide leadership, in cooperation with the principal, in supervision.

  3. Assist in interpreting school policy established by the Board of Education.

  4. Share in development of philosophy and master schedule.

  5. Assist in administering student discipline including:

    1. maintain the after school detention program;

    2. assist teachers in maintaining good classroom discipline;

    3. assist in maintaining building control and security and supervising students before, during and after school;

    4. monitor in-school suspension program;

    5. assist in supervising parking lot.

  6. Perform such other duties as assigned by the principal or Superintendent.
