0157 - APPOINTMENT TO JOINT VOCATIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD

As a participating district of the Tri-County Joint Vocational School District ("JVSD"), the Board of Education is entitled to representation on the Tri- County JVSD Board of Education in accordance with the most recent plan for the Tri-County JVSD on file with the Ohio Department of Education.

Beginning with terms expiring or vacated on or after September 29, 2013, the Board shall make appointments to the Tri-County JVSD in accordance with this policy consistent with the requirements of R.C. Section 3311.19.

Terms of Service on JVSD Board

Members appointed by the Board under this policy to the Tri-County JVSD Board shall serve for three (3) year terms of office.

Each appointment by this Board to the Tri-County JVSD Board will be through the adoption of a resolution setting forth the appointee's qualifications in accordance with this policy and the law.

Required Qualifications of Board Appointed JVSD Board Members

The Board may appoint to the Tri-County JVSD an individual who is not a current member of this Board who is otherwise lawfully eligible to serve as set forth below.

Members of the Tri-County JVSD Board appointed under this policy shall either be Members of this Board or individuals who have experience or knowledge regarding the labor needs of the state and region with an understanding of the skills, training and education needed for current or future employment opportunities in the State.

In addition, preference will be given to interested Members of this Board who otherwise meet the statutory qualifications.
