8550 - COMPETITIVE FOOD SALES

The food-service program will comply with the provisions set forth in Federal law regarding sale of competitive food.

The food-service program shall be the sole provider of food and beverage items sold in all schools until thirty (30) minutes following the last lunch period, at which time student clubs and organizations and/or District support organizations may request approval to sell foods and beverage items in accordance with the Board's policies and administrative guidelines. Accordingly, all food items and beverages for sale to students for consumption on campus from vending machines, from school stores, or as fundraisers by student clubs and organizations and/or District support organizations shall comply with the current USDA Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Smart Snack Rules, and shall only be available between thirty (30) minutes following the last school lunch period and thirty (30) minutes after the close of the regular school day.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/ad-3027.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
