6160.04 - UNCLAIMED FUNDS

Funds remaining in a student’s account at the end of the school year are rolled over into his/her account for the following school year. 

1. If a student is moving from the District,  the funds remaining in his/her account will be transferred into a younger sibling’s account if one exists. If there are no siblings remaining in the District, within sixty days of such move, we must receive written notice of your forwarding address in order to process a refund of any remaining account funds. If within sixty days of such move, you do not provide a forwarding address to the Oconto Unified School District Office, any unclaimed funds in the student’s account shall be forfeited and shall become the property of the Oconto Unified School District Food Service department.
2. Graduating seniors with remaining funds in their account will be transferred to a sibling, if one exists.  If no siblings, the student will receive any refund less than $10.00 in cash at the end of the school year.  The school will initiate notification of any balances (positive or negative) on lunch accounts prior to the school year ending.  Any balance unclaimed by the student and any balance over $10.00 will need to be claimed in the District Office within 60 days of graduation or any unclaimed funds in the student’s account shall be forfeited and shall become the property of the Oconto Unified School District Food Service department.
