5131 - STUDENT TRANSFERS

The Board of Education recognizes the value to a student to participate in the interscholastic athletic program providing it does not interfere with the student's academic program and the student meets all of the requirements of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

The Board will send the necessary release to the Executive Director of the OHSAA for a student who has transferred to another district but resides in this District, providing the student meets all other eligibility requirements.

The Board, however, does not condone a student transferring to another district, while still residing in this District, for the express purpose of participating in the other district's athletic program. Therefore, it will not take the necessary formal action to release the student from the district.
