3130 - ASSIGNMENT AND TRANSFER

The Board of Education believes that the appropriate placement of qualified and competent staff is essential to the successful functioning of the District.

The Superintendent shall be responsible for the proper assignment and transfer of all teaching and other professional staff members and shall attempt to affect the optimum assignment of professional staff to positions based on the best interest of students enrolled in the District. Consideration shall also be given to legal and contractual requirements. Seniority or continuing contract status may not be used as the primary factor in assigning, reassigning, or transferring teachers.
