3132 - VACANCIES
It shall be the policy of the School Board to employ the best-qualified individual for any Corporation vacancy at any level.
Vacancies shall be announced, and all members of the professional staff shall be eligible for any Corporation vacancy, providing they are properly qualified.
The Superintendent shall establish procedures to facilitate identification and evaluation of candidates for administrative, supervisory, and other leadership positions.
A teacher who is employed by a school corporation subject to a community school corporation reorganization loses his/her job in the school corporation due to a community school corporation reorganization and has received a rating of effective or highly effective on his/her most recent employment evaluation shall receive an employment preference over other candidates for the same vacant teaching position for a period of not more than one (1) year after the teacher loses his/her job at the community school corporation created by a reorganization. In order to qualify for a hiring preference for a vacant teaching position under this section, the teacher must meet the licensing or credential requirements necessary for the teacher to teach the particular grade or subject matter for that particular teaching position.
