7440.03 - Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems  (Drones)

The Board prohibits the operation of small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS), commonly known as drones, at any time on a property that is owned or leased or contracted for by the Board at any time by any individual who is not authorized to do so by the Superintendent. 

If sUAS (drones) are used during high school athletic activities and/or events, the use will adhere to the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association's (WIAA) administrative policies and procedures.

To be authorized to operate a drone on property owned or leased or contracted for by the Board, a staff member or administrator or vendor employed by the Boardmust meet all criteria for the operation of and comply with all requirements and restrictions pertaining to the operation of any sUAS established by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Failure to adhere by applicable regulations may result in loss of authorization to operate a drone on property owned or leased or contracted for by the Board, referral to local law enforcement, and/or further disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
