3216 - PROFESSIONAL STAFF DRESS AND APPEARANCE

District employees are judged not only by their service but also by their appearance. The Board believes that professional staff members set an example in dress and appearance for their students to follow. It is the District's expectation that every employee's appearance is consistent with the high standards we set for ourselves as a District. Employees are expected to present a well-groomed, professional appearance, and to practice good hygiene.

The Board authorizes the development of standards for staff dress and grooming that promote a professional educational atmosphere that gives consideration to the impact on the educational process and the diversity of the District's staff.

The Board retains the authority to specify the dress and grooming guidelines for staff.
