4111 - CREATING A POSITION
The School Board recognizes the need to establish positions which, when filled by competent, qualified support staff, will assist the Corporation in achieving the education goals set by the Board. The Corporation employs only U.S. Citizens and others lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
The Superintendent shall verify all new employees' and substitutes right to work in the United States according to the Federal Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board will:
fix the compensation and prescribe the duties to be performed by all support staff;
create new positions;
specify the number of persons within each job category.
At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board shall give primary consideration to:
the number of students enrolled;
the special needs of the Corporation;
the special needs of the students;
the operational services of the Corporation.
At the recommendation of the Superintendent, the Board may create a new position or increase the number of support staff in an existing position.
The Board shall seek the advice of its administrative staff in creating a new support position or increasing the number of support staff in an existing position, but the Board reserves the right to act unilaterally.
