4419.05 - POST-RETIREMENT HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE

In appreciation to employees who retire from the Barron Area School District after many years of devoted service, such employees shall be allowed to continue participation in the employee group health insurance program under COBRA continuation laws. The extended coverage option ceases if the District no longer provides group health coverage to any of its employees or the retiree reaches Medicare eligibility.

Extension of health insurance benefits provisions under Federal and State law also will apply. The intent of this section is to supplement and not supplant Federal and State law. Federal and State law will prevail in areas of dispute.
